Get to know Me

Hey! This is Nicholas Redick

Photography is important to me because it is a way to distill a moment in time. It enables us to reconnect with ourselves and our loved ones over time and great distances. My photography style is deliberate and connection-based. We never ask our subjects to smile. Because we want to photograph and honor you as yourself.

Why I do this

I have been taking pictures since I was 8 years old. I loved the idea of distilling a moment in time. Now I make pictures that distill a person's being. We are beautiful creatures, and our humanity shows through the lens. I want to make images to showcase and honor the people of now.

How I work

Ground Glass Photography is built on the old-style field-camera process. We take time to build a connection with the sitter and establish how they want to be viewed. We then go through a process similar to a mini interview to unlock the sitter's emotions and capture photos through the process. It is a slow, deliberate, and enjoyable experience.

Fun Facts about me

I have too many hobbies. I play 11 instruments, paint, draw, hike, fish, enjoy all manner of games (especially those that involve strategy), and work in AI and security engineering to help make the world a better place.

Can't wait to meet you
